According to CNN, Brussels is among the top travel destinations for the coming year, standing out alongside far-flung locations thanks to its vibrant cultural scene. While the Belgian capital is already known for its historic landmarks, iconic Grand-Place and rich gastronomy, the American media highlights its emergence as a major artistic hub set to flourish in 2026.
A major attraction will be the long-awaited opening of the Kanal – Centre Pompidou, a new modern and contemporary art museum housed in the former Citroën garage along the canal. Visitors are also encouraged to explore the city’s comic-book heritage at the Musée de la Bande dessinée, home to famous characters such as Tintin and the Schtroumpfs, as well as the many comic-inspired street artworks scattered across the city.
Beyond its cultural scene, Brussels offers a mix of historic and modern highlights, from the elegant Galeries Saint‑Hubert to the futuristic Atomium. The city’s hospitality offer is also evolving, with stylish newcomers like The Hoxton Brussels and The Standard Brussels adding to its appeal.
