As you walk through central Brussels, you won’t miss the huge piles of sand that have been deposited in front of the Bourse building and on Place de la Monnaie. Weighing a total of 780 tonnes, these sandy beaches have been created to host the Belgian beach volleyball championship, known as the Geberit Beach Tour.
The first beach, located on the esplanade in front of the Bourse building, sets the stage for an epic volleyball showdown. Just a short stroll away, another sandy playground awaits on Place de la Monnaie. From Friday 4 to Sunday 6 August, these two sites will be filled with spectators and enthusiastic volleyball players, coming together for an unforgettable sporting event.
In addition to the exciting volleyball championship, Brussels is also captivating residents and visitors with its stunning ‘Brussels in Bloom’ flower trail. The historic city center has been adorned with flower-topped works of art, creating a colorful spectacle that enhances the city’s charm.
With these remarkable events, Brussels embraces life in all its diverse forms, offering residents and tourists a dynamic and enjoyable experience. Whether you’re strolling through the flower-filled streets or cheering on the beach volleyball players, Brussels captivates with its vibrant atmosphere and unique attractions.
