Belgium’s Council of Ministers has recently given the green light for an expansion of the “Working in Belgium” portal, designed to streamline and expedite the recruitment of foreign workers.
This initiative addresses the challenges faced by businesses grappling with labor shortages, offering a solution to connect them with potential candidates from abroad.
Recognizing that protracted processing times may deter prospective candidates and prompt them to explore job opportunities in other countries, the extension of the portal aims to mitigate such delays. By doing so, it seeks to safeguard the competitiveness of Belgian businesses in the global market.
The enhanced platform facilitates applicants in obtaining a ‘single permit,’ which authorizes them to reside in Belgium for work durations exceeding 90 days. This modification not only simplifies the administrative processes for both employers and employees but also ensures a more efficient and timely approach to workforce recruitment from overseas.
